About the role
We are seeking an experienced Appraisal Review & Data Entry Specialist to support a U.S.-based non-delegated mortgage lender.
The ideal candidate has recent, hands-on experience reviewing residential mortgage appraisals, extracting and validating appraisal data, and accurately entering information into Encompass. This is a strict plug-and-play remote position for an independent professional who can step into the role with minimal guidance, as no formal training will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review residential mortgage appraisal reports (Form 1004/URAR and other common forms) for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and potential red flags
Extract and validate key appraisal data including property details, values, sales prices, comparable properties, adjustments, and condition/quality ratings
Accurately enter and update appraisal information, statuses, and valuation details into Encompass
Properly upload, label, and index appraisal reports and supporting documents within the LOS
Track appraisal orders, monitor statuses, and communicate updates to internal teams
Coordinate with processors, loan officers, and underwriting to resolve discrepancies
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum 1 year of recent, hands-on experience with mortgage appraisal review and/or appraisal data entry in a U.S. mortgage environment
Strong hands-on proficiency using Encompass (plug-and-play role; no formal training provided)
Understanding of residential property valuation, common appraisal forms, and basic appraisal terminology
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
