About the role
I'm looking for an experienced Certified Medical Biller & Coder with strong hands-on experience in medical billing, coding, claims management, and insurance follow-up. The ideal candidate is a strong biller/coder who can independently manage the billing process and ensure claims are submitted accurately and timely.
Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end medical billing and coding.
- Review patient accounts and ensure accurate billing.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance payers.
- Review EOBs, denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies.
- Correct coding and billing errors and resubmit claims as needed.
- Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims.
- Manage A/R and work aging accounts to improve collections.
- Ensure billing is completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records.
- Stay current with payer requirements and coding guidelines.
- Communicate with providers, insurance companies, and other parties regarding billing issues.
Requirements
- Has handled inpatient records, DRGs, and ICD-10-PCS..
- Strong experience in medical billing and coding.
- Solid knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Hands-on experience with claims submission, denials, appeals, and A/R follow-up.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid billing.
- Pain Management experience preferred, particularly with trigger point injections and spinal injections.
- Other interventional pain management procedures
- Experience working with medical billing/EHR systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and manage billing tasks efficiently.
