QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Biller / RCM Specialist
Hands-on experience using athenahealth (required)
Full-cycle medical billing experience
Clearing claim holds and correcting rejected claims
Clean-claim submission and claim follow-up
Denials, reconsiderations, and appeals
Aged A/R, underpayments, payment posting, and collections
Eligibility and benefits verification
Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, workers' compensation, and VA/Optum
Identifying payments that insurers report as issued but that have not been received or posted
Experience obtaining prior authorizations for surgeries (especially spine or another surgical specialty)
Manage authorizations from submission through approval, verify that the approved codes and other details match the planned surgery, and follow up proactively with payers
Able to work independently and produce results quickly
Strong follow-up, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
