Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Coordinator with experience in hospital credentialing and privileging to support provider enrollment, appointment, and reappointment processes across multiple healthcare facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring providers maintain active credentials, hospital privileges, licenses, and compliance requirements to support uninterrupted clinical operations.
The ideal candidate has experience working directly with hospital medical staff offices, credentialing committees, and provider privileging requirements. This position requires strong follow-through, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple provider files and deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end provider credentialing, recredentialing, and hospital privileging processes
Prepare, submit, and track credentialing and privileging applications for hospitals, health systems, and healthcare organizations
Coordinate initial appointments, reappointments, and privilege renewals for physicians and advanced practice providers
Track license expirations, board certifications, malpractice insurance, CAQH profiles, DEA registrations, and other required provider documentation
Maintain accurate provider records, credentialing files, and privileging databases
Communicate with providers, hospital medical staff offices, credentialing departments, and internal teams to resolve application issues
Monitor application status and proactively follow up on outstanding requirements to prevent credentialing delays
Ensure compliance with hospital bylaws, accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, and organizational policies
Assist with credentialing audits, reporting requirements, and provider onboarding activities
Support provider enrollment activities with insurance payers when needed
Qualifications (Required):
Previous experience in healthcare credentialing with direct exposure to hospital credentialing and privileging
Strong understanding of provider credentialing workflows, hospital appointment processes, and privileging requirements
Experience preparing and managing credentialing applications for physicians, radiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, or other healthcare providers
Experience with credentialing platforms such as CAQH
Excellent organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple provider files and deadlines simultaneously
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote setting
Preferred Experience:
Experience working directly with hospital medical staff offices and credentialing committees
Background supporting radiology groups, hospitals, physician groups, or healthcare staffing organizations
Familiarity with accreditation standards such as The Joint Commission (TJC), NCQA, CMS, or similar regulatory bodies
Experience with multi-state provider credentialing, licensing, and hospital privileging
Experience credentialing multiple providers across numerous facilities simultaneously
