NOW HIRING: Medical Biller
Remote | Full-Time | US Eastern Time (ET)
Are you an experienced Medical Biller with strong insurance claims and collections experience? We're looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and independent Medical Biller to join an ABA therapy company's in-house billing and collections team.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience handling denied claims, insurance follow-ups, and outstanding accounts receivable, with mandatory experience using Waystar. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and work independently with minimal training.
Key Responsibilities
Follow up with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and unpaid balances.
Investigate and resolve denied, rejected, and underpaid insurance claims.
Identify billing issues and determine the appropriate next steps for corrections, appeals, and resubmissions.
Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and maintain accurate records of collection activities.
Contact insurance providers to obtain claim status updates and resolve billing discrepancies.
Use Waystar for clearinghouse and claims-related activities.
Collaborate with the internal billing team to ensure timely claim resolution and collections.
Requirements
At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience in HMO or medical insurance billing and collections.
Mandatory: Prior experience using Waystar.
Strong understanding of the insurance claims lifecycle, including submission, denials, appeals, resubmissions, and follow-ups.
Ability to independently investigate claims and determine the appropriate course of action.
Experience in ABA therapy billing is a plus; general medical billing experience is welcome.
Familiarity with medical billing codes and CentralReach is an advantage.
Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to workflows with approximately two days of system orientation.
