About the role
I am the owner of a boutique Pilates studio in California that has been serving our community for more than 25 years.
I also operate an online Pilates Teacher Training Academy offering a Self-Paced Pilates Mat Certification and Pilates Anatomy course.
I am looking for a long-term Marketing Virtual Assistant who can help grow both sides of the business:
- Bring qualified local clients into our brick-and-mortar Pilates studio
- Help market and grow our online Pilates Mat Certification and Anatomy programs
This is not simply a social media posting position.
I am looking for someone who understands that marketing should ultimately create leads, conversations, appointments and sales.
WHAT I NEED HELP WITH
For our local Pilates studio:
- Social media content creation and management
- Canva graphics and short-form videos
- Repurposing photos, videos and existing content
- Researching content ideas for adults 40+
- Local community marketing and engagement
- Monitoring local online communities for potential clients
- Responding to comments and direct messages using approved messaging
- Following up with interested leads
- Helping move prospects toward booking appointments or introductory offers
- Email marketing to leads and former clients
- Updating and organizing leads inside our CRM
- Helping manage GoHighLevel campaigns, workflows and funnels
- Updating landing pages and website content
- Local search and business-profile marketing
- Competitor and offer research
- Tracking lead sources, appointments and conversions
For our Pilates Teacher Training business:
- Marketing our Self-Paced Pilates Mat Certification
- Marketing our Pilates Anatomy course
- Creating educational and promotional content
- Repurposing course information into posts, emails and videos
- Researching what future Pilates instructors are searching for and asking about
- Improving landing pages and email campaigns
- Supporting lead-nurture campaigns
- Helping grow our audience in the United States and Philippines
- Researching fitness communities and potential partnerships
- Helping us better understand the Filipino Pilates and fitness market
TOOLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience with some or all of the following is strongly preferred:
- GoHighLevel
- Canva
- Social media management
- Meta Business Suite
- Google Workspace
- ChatGPT or other AI tools
- Google Sheets or Excel
- Website and funnel editors
- CRM systems
You do not need to know every program, but you must be comfortable learning technology independently.
I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
- Has real digital marketing experience
- Understands lead generation, not just posting content
- Has excellent written and spoken English
- Can write naturally and conversationally
- Has experience marketing a local service business
- Understands social media and short-form video marketing
- Is comfortable communicating with prospective clients through direct messages
- Can create clean, professional Canva designs
- Understands basic email marketing
- Is comfortable working inside a CRM
- Is organized and dependable
- Can follow instructions carefully
- Can think independently and make suggestions
- Researches solutions before immediately asking for help
- Can manage recurring responsibilities without constant reminders
- Pays attention to details
- Wants a stable, long-term position
I do not want someone who needs every task explained step-by-step indefinitely.
I want someone who can eventually take ownership of parts of our marketing so I am not personally doing everything.

PILATES EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY
This position may be especially interesting for someone who loves fitness, wellness or Pilates and has considered becoming a Pilates instructor.
Our Self-Paced Pilates Mat Certification normally sells for $699 USD.
The person selected for this position may have the opportunity to enroll for a special $199 nonrefundable employee/student rate, with the remaining $500 provided as an educational benefit.
This is separate from your VA compensation. You will still be paid for all approved VA working hours.
Participation in the Pilates certification opportunity will be discussed with the selected candidate.
HOURS
Approximately 20 hours per week to start, with the opportunity to increase hours as the position develops.
Some overlap with California Pacific Time will occasionally be necessary, but much of the work may be completed independently.
This is intended to be a long-term position for the right person.
COMPENSATION
$300–$400 USD per month depending on experience and demonstrated marketing skills.
Higher consideration may be given to candidates with strong experience in local-business lead generation, GoHighLevel, funnels, appointment generation or proven digital marketing results.
