Looking for a remote project-based role? Studio Lunarey, a California-based residential interior design studio, is looking for a detail-oriented Virtual Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant to support the Principal Designer!
Key Details
Role: Part-Time Virtual Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant
Pay: $380 – $550/month (depending on experience and performance)
Schedule: Flexible (Minimum 4 hours/day), aligned with Pacific Time (PT) / California
Setup: 100% Remote
Primary Responsibilities
• Design Support: Update floor plans, elevations, cabinetry concepts, and SketchUp & Layout 3D models; prepare client presentations, mood boards, and finish boards.
• Sourcing & Specifying: Source furniture, lighting, plumbing, tile, and finishes; prepare detailed spec sheets (pricing, dimensions, lead times) and request vendor samples.
• Project Organization: Maintain organized project folders in Google Drive, track design decisions and quotes, and prepare meeting agendas/notes.
• Coordination & Admin: Draft client follow-up recaps, communicate with vendors for quotes/specifications, and prepare design details for contractors.
• Marketing Support (Secondary): Create simple Canva content, organize portfolio assets, and assist with social media (Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn) or website updates.
Requirements & Qualifications
Degree, certificate, or professional experience in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
Tools: Proficiency in SketchUp, Layout, Canva, Google Workspace/Drive, and Dropbox.
Strong understanding of residential interior design, space planning, and drafting (floor plans & elevations).
Excellent material/product sourcing skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Strong written English communication skills and ability to manage multiple project deadlines remotely.
Nice to have: Experience with Enscape renderings, Squarespace, CapCut, or residential remodeling/construction specs.
