YouTube, Instagram & TikTok | Travel + Lifestyle | Freelance / Remote
We’re looking for a creative video editor who is especially strong at storytelling and creative thinking, not just polished editing.
This is for a personality-driven travel and lifestyle creator with a large archive of raw footage from trips, experiences, conversations, reactions, and everyday moments.
What We're Looking For
We need someone who can receive unstructured footage, review it independently, and find compelling stories within it.
Rather than waiting for us to pick every clip or provide a complete script, we want someone who can:
Identify interesting stories and creative video concepts
Develop engaging hooks, storylines, and rough voiceover scripts
Choose the best clips and organize them as a cohesive narrative
Suggest additional voiceovers or context when needed
Bring personality, humor, and creativity in the editing
Content You'll Work On
Long-form YouTube: Personality-driven storytelling with natural humor, strong pacing, engaging moments, and a clear beginning, middle, and payoff. Creative references include Gloom and Mia Maples.
Short-form Reels & TikToks: Story-driven travel and lifestyle content featuring voiceovers, humor, observations, and personal experiences rather than generic cinematic montages. Dose of Travel / Nabila Ismail is a key reference.
We're open to hiring separate long-form and short-form editors, so you don't need to specialize in both.
Our Workflow
Most footage consists of raw iPhone videos and photos organized in iCloud albums.
Our ideal process:
We share an album You review the footage Identify potential stories Suggest hooks and voiceovers We provide any missing context You create the finished video.
You should be comfortable reviewing large amounts of raw footage and working with iCloud shared albums or suggesting an equally simple workflow.
What We're Looking For in a Candidate
Strong storytelling and video editing skills
Experience editing creator-led YouTube videos, Reels, or TikToks
Ability to work independently with unscripted footage
Creative judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
Comfortable suggesting video concepts and voiceover ideas
Reliable communication and turnaround times
Storytelling ability matters more to us than flashy transitions, cinematic montages, or complicated effects.
