About the role
We are seeking an experienced a remote Australian Accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, solving problems, and delivering tax services. A minimum 2-5 years experience in Australian Taxation landscape.
Compliance & Taxation
Preparation of Financial Statements for:
Companies
Trusts
Partnerships
Sole Traders – PSI issues & Treatment
Preparation and lodgement of Income Tax Returns
Preparation and review of Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST compliance, and fuel tax credits review.
Preparation and review of Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
Preparation of workpapers and supporting documentation
Advisory & Client Support
Assist clients with tax planning
Review client accounting records and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide assistance with software implementation and process improvements
Cloud Accounting
Xero setup, maintenance and troubleshooting
Review bookkeeping completed by staff – understand ‘transfer’ between accounts
Bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
Review payroll processing and superannuation compliance
Maintain accurate client records and documentation
Assist in training junior accountants and graduates
Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team
Other requirements:
Have advanced knowledge of Xero (Blue & Green Tax)
Experience working in an Australian Public Accounting Firm with tax knowledge, ideally more than 2 years.
Must have Computer/ Laptop for work with 2 Monitors
