About the role
We are hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist.
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Shift: US Eastern Day Shift
Hourly Rate: $3.50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Obtaining prior authorizations for procedures and medications
Verifying insurance benefits and authorization requirements
Following up with insurance carriers on pending authorizations
Tracking authorization status and documenting updates
Coordinating with providers and clinical staff to obtain required documentation
Managing authorization denials, appeals, and resubmissions as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in Pain Management
Experience obtaining authorizations for both procedures and medications
Experience working in Athenahealth (Athena)
Strong understanding of US insurance plans and authorization workflows
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
For this role, prior authorization experience is essential. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple authorizations simultaneously, and communicating professionally with insurance companies and clinical teams.
