About the role

Overview
We are a Canadian family law firm doing high-volume legal aid work, looking for a detail-obsessed Billing / Accounts Virtual Assistant to own our legal aid billing from end to end. This is a long-term, stable, full-time role.
What You'll Do
Prepare, submit, and track legal aid billings (training provided on the Legal Aid Ontario system)
Track all funds coming in from legal aid and reconcile payments against what was billed
Review lawyers' and staff time entries daily, catching missing time, wrong codes, and errors
Flag billing errors and follow up with staff to fix them
Track firm and per-staff billing against monthly targets and report to the owner
Maintain clean, up-to-date billing and receivables reports (Excel/Google Sheets)
Who We're Looking For
2+ years experience in billing, bookkeeping, accounting, or accounts receivable
Strong reconciliation skills
Confident with Excel / Google Sheets
Strong written English
Experience with a law firm, legal billing, or legal practice management software (Clio, PracticePanther, etc.) is a big plus
Comfortable respectfully following up with staff and reporting issues to management
Tech Requirements
Own laptop or desktop (no tablets/iPads)
Reliable high-speed internet with backup plan for outages
Quiet workspace for the night shift
Based in or near Cebu City
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Toronto time (approximately 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM Philippine time, night shift)
