About the role
We're looking for a hands-on, ownership-driven Lead Full-Stack Developer to take technical ownership of BoxStat, a live and growing mobile sports stat-tracking platform on iOS and Android. This is not a support role - this is a core engineering role working directly with the founder.
About BoxStat: A live mobile sports platform with paying users, weekly onboarding of new organizations, and a growing roadmap including a tournaments feature and basic AI capabilities.
Role Overview: You will support and improve the full stack including mobile apps (iOS + Android - Mac + Xcode required), backend systems and APIs, AWS cloud infrastructure, database management and scaling, AI/LLM integrations (Claude + OpenAI). What You'll Work On: Helping with migration from Replit to AWS, improving app stability, performance, and fixing bugs, maintaining and optimizing PostgreSQL database, adding AI features for different user types, handling bug fixes quickly, supporting tournaments feature development.
Required Experience: 5+ years full-stack development experience, hands-on experience with mobile apps (iOS + Android in production), comfortable using Mac + Xcode for iOS development, experience shipping apps on App Store and Play Store, AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.), backend experience (Node.js, Python, or similar), PostgreSQL experience, some experience with AI/LLM APIs.
Disqualifiers: No real mobile app experience (iOS + Android), no experience with Mac/Xcode, no exposure to production apps or live users, poor or slow communication.
