About the role

XPRTS is a modern cloud-based US law firm seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Estate Planning and Probate Paralegal for their fully remote team. Practice Areas: Estate Planning, Probate (Kansas jurisdiction). This is not a role where you will be hand-held — you will be given the autonomy and trust to own your workflow and drive cases forward independently.
Key Responsibilities — Advanced Drafting & Document Preparation: draft, customize, and review comprehensive estate planning packages including complex revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and trust funding documents utilizing WealthCounsel, prepare all necessary probate and trust administration documents including petitions, inventories, accountings, notices, and orders specific to Kansas jurisdictions, and review asset information, deeds, and financial statements to accurately draft trust funding documents and real estate deeds.
Key Responsibilities — Probate Court Filings & Case Management: manage the end-to-end lifecycle of probate and estate administration matters with minimal supervision, prepare and electronically file pleadings and documents in Kansas probate courts strictly adhering to local court rules and procedures, and maintain meticulous case files and track deadlines using Smokeball.
Key Responsibilities — Client Communication: act as primary empathetic point of contact for clients guiding them through intake and onboarding stages, communicate complex probate timelines and estate planning processes to clients with clarity and professionalism, and coordinate execution meetings, witness requirements, and notary logistics for remote or in-person signings.
Requirements: at least a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, minimum 3 years of hands-on experience specifically within Estate Planning and Probate law (Kansas jurisdiction experience heavily preferred), advanced proficiency in Smokeball for case management, document automation, and time tracking, and expert-level proficiency in WealthCounsel for drafting estate planning documents. Preferred: direct experience with Kansas law firms including deep familiarity with Kansas local court forms, e-filing systems, and county-specific rules.
