About the role
XPRTS is a rapidly growing modern cloud-based US law firm seeking a high-caliber Civil Litigation Paralegal for their fully remote team. Practice Areas: Civil Litigation primarily Business Disputes and Real Estate Disputes. This is not an entry-level administrative role — you will be a core engine of the litigation team taking extreme ownership of drafting, court filings, and client relationships. J.D. required, minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience required (Kansas jurisdiction preferred).
Key Responsibilities — Advanced Drafting & Case Preparation: draft high-quality pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses for business and real estate litigation, prepare comprehensive case summaries, legal memoranda, and correspondence, review and analyze voluminous document productions and financial records common in business disputes, and prepare trial exhibits, notebooks, and pre-trial disclosures.
Key Responsibilities — Court Filings & Jurisdictional Procedure: manage timely and accurate filing of court documents via electronic filing systems ensuring strict compliance with local rules, maintain the firm's litigation calendar tracking all court deadlines, statutes of limitations, and hearing dates, and coordinate with process servers, court clerks, and opposing counsel to facilitate service of process and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities — Client Communication: serve as a primary professional point of contact for clients providing clear updates on case status and next steps, conduct initial client intakes and fact-gathering interviews, and communicate effectively with opposing counsel, witnesses, and experts.
Requirements: at least a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is strictly required, minimum 3 years of hands-on experience within Civil Litigation (business and/or real estate disputes highly preferred), prior experience navigating the Kansas court system and local rules is highly preferred, and must be highly proficient in Smokeball for practice management, time tracking, and document automation.
